Why Did They Do That?: Why did carnotaurus evolve HORNS?

Carnotaurus must be the most well known abelisaurid dinosaur, and that because it has been featured in a variety of media much more than its relatives, and that probably goes to its majestic horns. Why did it have these horns though?
In this new series in TGFDB I'll show you why did various creatures from different ages evolve a specifically interesting body part. I will do my best to make one of these every Friday, but for now, let's go back to carnotaurus's horns.

CARNOTAURUS

If prehistoric genera had emotions, Carnotaurus would be either really shy or really proud , and that because carnotaurus is only known by.a single specimen, yet this specimen features its whole skull, parts of its skin and other really interesting stuff. One of the things that the scientists who discovered it were the horns placed above its head, so that's why he named this dinosaur "Carnotaurus", aka "Carnivorous Bull".

Carnotaurus is definitely not the only abelisaurid to have evolved horns. Many other abelisaurids, such as majungasaurus have evolved horns as well. However, unlike the horn of majungasaurus, carnotaurus has two horns placed on the side of its head, while majungasaurus has only got one placed in the middle.

The Horns

Carnotaurus's horns have had may theories around their purpose since its discovery; many were wanting it to use them to
use them for mating rituals, others wanted it to use them for killing its prey and others for mating displays. However, chances are that there can't be more than one correct answer. So, let's explore the possibilities.
One of the most possible of the above explanations is that they were used as a mating display; the horns of Carnotaurus have been proven to not handle enough stress that would be produced by the force of another creature.

And that's why did Carnotaurus do that. That's why they needed these horns. I definitely need to work on my outros.
